Pre-Covid I was at a gig in Camden Town and sitting in the People Who Can Afford Tickets That Keep Them Away From The Riff Raff section (not VIP section - can't remember what they called it).
Will I Am was standing about a foot or two away from me. I didn't speak to him because I don't give a shot about Will I Am so so didn't "meet" him. Various people very politely came up to see if they could get a selfie or autograph. Not "in your face" or shouting etc but being polite and well mannered. He completely ignored them and got his several large body guards to warn them off. Seemed like a massive cunt. When the young waitress woman at the venue then took his drinks order he suddenly became all friendly at this early 20s bird with her tits out. I wonder why that was.

Lee - haha Dean Gaffney lol Never said i was famous did i, although there are books about me and tonight my ex bird will be on tv telling lies and making money on a subject she should have more dignity about. but thats another story.
look at the end of the day im not here to argue. it was a thread about meeting famous people and i know many but then get shot down by some twat. i shouldnt bother reply to any fucking posts on here. does my ticker no good and nothing will ever come of it. il leave the likes of crossed hammers to enjoy their moment whilst i lick my wounds. no im not walter mitty. i have had a great life and i guess u cant discuss it cos it gets others a bit...bitter?

Almost forgot, when I had an electrical wholesale business, some of the locals used the trade counter as a shop, Wicksy (Simon Beale) used to pop in for some bits and always wanted to chat, but we all found him really boring and none of us ever said we knew who he was, although it seemed like he was waiting for someone to say something.
Also the other pisshead from Eastenders Jesse (or Kat or whatever her name was) used to make a cunt of herself in the Kings head in North Weald until they banned her.

I would absolutely hate to be extremely "famous" though. A couple of people who live close by are. Don't know them personally beyond a "hello", but they seem to have the paps or TV crews outside their houses regularly. Hate the idea of not being able to take a shit without the world knowing.

I'm friends with a few of famous telly/film-related folk who I met through Mrs Southbank (works in the sector).
The reason I genuinely like them - rather than in a star-fucker way - is because they are not remotely bothered or desperate about fame. They treat me and others in our circle like they treat each other and their families. Just interesting, bright, self-deprecating and decent folk.
The things they talk about during the football, in the pub or at the cafe are refreshingly normal.
But I've seen a few folk who have "star-fucker" relationships with famous "friends". It's an embarrassment.

I've met quite few people at gigs.
Lemmy at a Pink Fairies gig (I bought him a JD and coke) - he was very polite and tolerated my hero worship for a while.
A couple at gigs I played. Captain Sensible (a friend of his was in the support act) and he is a lovely bloke. Loves his Psychedelic music to which was just as well as that is what we did. Clare Grogan as well - I actually asked her out and she said yes but I lost her phone number.
That band also supported Robert Calvert (I love Hawkwind) and we covered Master of the Universe for one of our encore songs. He liked our take on it took the time come and say so after our set.
The oddest was bumping into Robbie Williams (of all people) and Damon Albarn at the bar of the Astoria during a Cardiacs gig.
Also suported Cardiacs a couple of times and they lovely to a man and woman.
Another weird one was running into John Otway and Roy Wood at the Cropredy festival and spent a sunny afternoon with them buying rounds and chatting about music.
Also ran into Teddy Sherrigham at a bar and can confirm that he is an utter twat.
